Friends of Animal Services, Inc has been supporting the Pasco County Animal Shelter since 2007!
Over the years we have raised enough money to build fences, treat sick and injured shelter pets and assisted the shelter out in any way that we could.
Medical Equipment and Services
In order to provide the best treatment for the shelter pets, Friends has contributed over $107,500.oo to acquire an X-ray Machine, heartworm treatments, nursing kits, surgeries, surgical equipment, feral cat spay and neuter and so much more!
Friends knows that the shelter pets can get restless while waiting for their new family so we have made it a point to provide the shelter with the necessary enrichment like various toys, especially Kongs, to provide stimulation for the dogs, and small toys for cats. In total, Friends has donated over $2500 worth of enrichment items to the shelter… that’s a lot of fun!
All About The Cats
Friends has provided over $4100 to improve the lives of the cats at the shelter. This includes beds/bedding, toys, litter, and enrichment.
Friends of Animal Services knows that the volunteers play an important role in the everyday operations of the shelter and an even more importantly, are an important part of the shelters pets health and happiness. As of the close of 2020, Friends has contributed over $2300.00 for Volunteer appreciation activites at the shelter. We appreciate all of their hard work and dedication! Thank you!
All About The Dogs
Since the creation of Friends, a total of $55,225 has been donated to improve the lives of the dogs at shelter! Wow! Unlike cats, dogs require a lot more room, both inside and out and Friends has helped out in so many ways. Some of the items these funds has enabled is the SPREE exercise areas, Waste System, outdoor shelters and shade coverings, fencing, and so much more.
Carriers, Collars, Leashes and More
Over the years, Friends has donated over $7218 towards carriers for cats and other small animals, leashes for volunteer dog walkers and leashes for newly adopted dogs.
Have you seen the Tail Wagon, Pasco County’s Animal Services mobile adoption and vaccination unit? Or have you seen the Animal Control Officer’s vans out and about sharing important messages about adoption, vaccination and animal welfare? Friends contributed to all of those projects totaling over $60,000!
Friends believes that every animal should have a chance and that means getting the right treatment if needed to ensure a chance at finding a good home. Over $10,000 has been focused towards heart worm preventatives and treatment as well as other medicines!
