SPREE was a Success!
Thanks to those of you who attended the dedication of the SPREE area. It was a nice event and drew the attention of a few of our county officials. If you haven’t visited the shelter, please stop by and see what your donation to the Best Paw Forward program provided. It will warm your heart to see a dog running and playing, happy to be out of the kennel for awhile.
The board members were anxious to find out the results of the adopt-a-thon held the same day as the ribbon cutting of the SPREE area. We were happy to hear the number of animals adopted was double that of a typical Saturday. According to staff we spoke to, on a normal Saturday 10 – 12 animals are adopted. The number jumped to 25 the day of the adopt-a-thon! Many thanks to Hill’s for bringing this event to our county. Pasco was one of the few places in the country that Hill’s chose to hold such an event. No doubt, this is because of the recognition our shelter has received for the great work they have done and programs they have initiated with a limited budget.
